WHAT WE DO
Skate Westwood is dedicated to working with the community, city, and local skaters to promote skateboarding and develop a skatepark in the Westwood neighborhood of Denver. We are in the initial phase of working with local organizations and the city to secure land along Morrison Road to develop the park for the community. To achieve our long term goal of providing Westwood with a skatepark for the public we are starting a monthly skate clinic to work with children in the community. The date of the first clinic is still TBD as we are speaking with local and national companies to receive skateboard donations for the clinic. This is a really exciting time in Westwood and we hope to build relationships in the community as well as get everybody involved in the passion of skateboarding!
HOW WE DO IT
Skate Westwood engages with the community on a local level by promoting outdoor recreation through skateboarding. Because many of the families in the Westwood community are unable to provide boards for children we reach out to companies to secure skateboard donations for our skate clinics for the children to use. In the future we hope to receive enough donations to provide boards for children to take home with them. By engaging with the community and promoting skateboarding we hope to gain support to develop a skatepark in Westwood as our long term goal. We draw support for the skatepark from all across Denver by speaking with public officials, working with local organizations, and gaining input from the local community and we hope to have you join us for one of our events!
